You probably know that if you hit the standard ‘Invite’ button or tick box in your LinkedIn app on your phone, that a blank, bland invite goes out to the person you so much want to connect with. You also know that the invite will be less well received as a result.
Here’s how to send a customised invitation request on your LinkedIn app on your mobile phone:

How to send a customized LinkedIn invite from your Android

Go the profile of the person you wish to invite.

Either click on the 3 dot pattern (the Android ‘More’ icon) at the top right of the profile screen, by the search icon, OR hit the ‘Menu’ area on the lower left side of your phone’s main button. In either case hit the ‘Customize Invite’ option and create and send your personalised invite right from your phone.

How to send a customized LinkedIn invite from your your Windows Phone

Er, at the time of writing it is not possible to do this. The 3 vertical dot button does appear on the LinkedIn App for Windows phones BUT it is  not active. LinkedIn appears not to have a good track record in updating its mobile app for Windows devices.
