<p>For now, though, a simple<strong><em> &#8216;Mayburyism&#8217;</em></strong> prompted by my thoughts this morning to get the ball rolling. If you have heard me speak or attended any of my training sessions you will undoubtly have heard me say:</p>

<p>We don&#8217;t have time to get too philosophical here. Let&#8217;s boil it down. The economy is the economy, the market is the market, the target is the target and the workload is the workload. How we choose to see and respond to these elements define <em>our</em> meaning, <em>our</em> purpose, <em>our</em> priorities, <em>our</em> effort and <em>our</em> definition of <em>our </em>success.<img title="More..." src="http://richardmaybury.co.uk/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gif" alt="" /><span id="more-2021"></span></p>
<p>No one else can <em>do</em> this for us and we can&#8217;t <em>do</em> it for anyone else. All we can do is help or hinder each other in generating that meaning, motivation and energy to drive the necessary effort to achieve our goals. </p>
<p>I would suggest that now, more than ever before, we must work on sharpening our focus and energy management skills so that we can make the most of the opportunities before us and work purposefully and positively on what means most to us.</p>
