Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare. Goals bridge the gap.
Most people at work have mandated goals, targets, SLAs and other measures, externally set for them by others. Most people have the necessary ambition to achieve these goals and successfully deliver on them quarter in – quarter out; even if it means paying a high personal price.
That price can be ‘current crisis – current quarter myopia’; it can be doing the ‘important’ or ‘strategic’ work out of hours – or frustration about not doing what we know we should. The question then is: ‘How can I balance the tactical imperative with the strategic objective without working longer or harder?’
The answer lies in what I call ‘Goal Control’.
Goal Control is a subtle blend of many elements working together to deliver the right solution to your own business situation. These elements range from hard-nosed management rigour and workflow processes through to the psychological inspiration /aspiration elements of the personal development field. There is no such thing as a ‘standard’ goal control problem so, whilst many elements of our support may be common, the solution we develop for you, your team and your business will be uncommon and bespoked to your needs.
